Uprising began life in 2010 as a humble home based micro bakery operated by Alice Lees. The products were simple tarts and daily muffins delivered hot each morning to local cafes and restaurants. It soon grew to having a weekly stall at the local farmers markets. In December 2013 Uprising moved into its current space in a warehouse in Maryville, a suburb of Newcastle, NSW. We now have a shopfront where you can grab a coffee and watch us bake a daily selection of breads, pastries, tarts, brioche and pies.
